Too Important

Switch off or at least try to
Seems to be an impossible task
With a mind refusing to follow
A tired spirit a unique will
to surrender. Albeit culture would see it
As an offence to life a debacle
For we must be perennially in control
Of an incontrollable life given to us for free.
No one said we had to take it but renouncing
Is judged as cowardice and defeat.
Switch off or at least try to
For what is so important that cannot be
Neglected, only for a moment
The time to dissolve, recombine
Recompose rebuild. Rest and repristinate,
As I recall the words of he who was
Criticised for being shamelessly true
To himself, simply because,
Life is too important to be taken seriously.
