A week of blindness uncovered sceneries
Of an ill spirit through swollen eyes.
Losing colours to smoky shades I walked
Contorted paths of obfuscated realities.
Streets and trails carpeting my world
Mirror an internal labyrinth clogged
By frantic crowds of thoughts black dots,
I succumb to dizziness attacked
By myopic microbes compelling me to see,
Through convulsions of my pupils
Glimpses of a truth my clouded scleras
Orbited by sty attempted to spare me.
As I demand my left eye to endure the burden
My sight impaired loses its grip on depths
Perceptions of distances between me
You my wine glass and all the rest.
Eyelids ridded of dissipating fumes I realise
I was not a victim of my condition I chose
A temporary blindness to indulge, create
A plausible justification to my stagnation.
Enlightened clarity now strengthens my resolve
I promise to Self I won’t close my eyes anymore.
This year I am inclined, to see.
