Unnatural

Marble powder and cement
Bronze and plaster of Paris
Sepia names of fantastic creatures
Unnatural nature captures my eyes.
Elegant shapes graceful imagination
Sinuous bodies ibis faces tales of fighting fish
In realms of fantasy clashing with reality
Evolution of a possible Universe diverse.
Soft furs tainted spots abyssal irises
I feel the stare of zany animals around me
Following my steps along the perimeters
Of the halls which walls silently observe.
Bewitched by myriad chimeras an instant
I halt in wonder questioning whether
I am indeed the spectator or it is me
The work of art, contemplated scrutinised
By the masterpieces of the artist’s mind.
