Blowing shapes

Undergoing a sea of change
it fluctuates modelling shapes,
sinuous guises of innate fantasy
creativity of burning leaves,
once emerald green then cropped
exsiccated for the pleasure of some
willing to renounce a touch of vigour
to indulge in a vice inhale and enchant
afore the anamorphic dance of escaping
enticing fumes as others penetrate within,
into lobes and bronchioles of soothed
darkened lungs only to reappear
on exhales as the spectator turns
into the crafter directing emanations,
an impromptu smoke trickster rolling
tongue moulding patterns contorting lips
rings and hearts dragons ghosts
reversed waterfalls as the three inch
hookah-smoking caterpillar emits
breathy letters O, R, U, asking Alice
“Whooo … are … you?”.
These words the time of a cigarette.
