IF ONLY

If only I could show you
The beauty I see,
The creatures I gaze upon
Their delicacy.
Gifted with a mind
Only beginning to grasp
The beguiling wonder
That is their mere existence,
After millenary quests
Interrogations to comprehend
The physicality of a world
Constraining them to a body,
Capable of transcending
The hindering sufference
Of thirst and hunger
Illness necessiting shelter,
Somatizing limits
They obstinately refuse
A presence in a world
They are barely able to explain,
Yet they try.
If only I could describe to you
The fragility of their consciousness
The way it swings between
A feeling and a rational thought,
The way they perceive
The supremacy of goodwill
As they struggle with notions
Of free will, a choice.
Trapped in concocted games
Unaware of the nature of sorcerers
Laying the phantomatic rules
To their hexing frustrations,
The strength the tenacity
Of persistence for they know
Deep down they will endure
Conquering without a fight
Universe’s treasures galore.
