I saw colours on people’s faces
chewed on the entheogenic leaf,
flew me straight across the vastness
over mountain chains peaks and cliffs,
shattered cities rivers of wilderness
murdered innocents jungles,
dictatorships steppes nomads
and deserts to the cradle
of an early civilization.
Five thousand years in Indus valley
playing with monkeys
frolicking in temples, barefoot
chasing enlightenment in silence
surrounded, by unflappable cows
hungry stray dogs under the looks
of Ganesh, staring from the arches
of opened doors, from which a man
exiting excited attacks me,
with painted caresses covering me
in colours of celebrated victory,
that of good over evil vanquished
by the platoon of spring, a pause
to forgive and forget laughing way
to redemptionary bliss.
Just for one day, Happy Holi!
