Inclement

Pure, white. Nature dresses in white.
A bride abandoned at the altar by a groom
Who ignored her, used her, abused her,

Told her she was beautiful he couldn’t
Live without her then exploited her
Till her very last resource.

Her vengeance is defense, she wants
To survive, she cries snowflakes
Her exhales lift the winds, ocean water

Turns to ice. Icicle adornments
Hang on trees, rooftops and cornices
Homes are painted white, streets

Are carpeted in white. Everything is white.

The blizzard carries her tears to the tune
Of her wrath, her body is cold she appears
Inclement yet still puts on, a beguiling show.
