Forgotten

You passed me a ticket under the table,
Hush-hush invitation to join you across
The globe to the other side of the world,
Where fauna and flora faces and colours differ,
Concealed exotic places to my virgin eyes,
Longing for your touch the warmth of your body
Your awkward smile the crazy things you say
The ephemeral sentiments you claim.
Leap of faith I accepted gave you ten days
Of my life stripped of quotidian distractions,
No phone no computer no poetry no writing
No wine no reefers no books no evasion.
Thrust into wilderness a bungalow our lair
A bucolic existence within a parenthesis,
Only devoted to a unique passion, no interruptions
Other than cold showers and still
Many with you standing on the threshold
Leering at me, in silence enraptured
By symbiotic physical attraction, chemical reactions,
A tornado of emotions jeopardising reason,
No pauses even to ponder, rationalise the irrational,
Make sense of the nonsensical, find logic
Where there is none, I let go, follow the flow
The natural course rhythmed by impulses,
Pure acceptance I concede, acquiesce
To your folly animal instincts dictated
By human necessity rays of light caressing me
Salty waters cleansing me of sand, of your scent.
Seeking Andromeda perusing space, in vain,
Between kisses unfound, you’ll be responsible
For her presence on my thigh, yet another
Cosmic emblem engraved on my skin,
Black ink, Adam and Eve in a forsaken garden
As if they were the first human beings alive, we
The last. Unloosable tie until I remember
Recover senses acknowledging the world,
Other people around me, you remember too,
Gaze at the girl dancing gyrating her hips
A hula hoop you follow up and down her body
Entheogenic trips on psychedelic music, deafening
Your impulses, as stranded in my abode
I remain forgotten.
