When silence is my word

I was told long ago that I should worry
when words are spoken no more.
That until one seeks to express ones feelings
explain ones points of view one cares,
and that only when one surrenders gives up
on another one turns to silence for words,
seem to lose their meaning fall on deaf
ears drowning purpose in futility,
and though I had not fully understood then
as I had never surrendered before
I now comprehend.
Indeed I am no longer inclined to share
with you the emotions and stances of my spirit,
and I think deep down I am guilty
as I believe
I just gave up on you.
