New Love

Not so long ago it was nice there was a pride,
in being a lady gracious delicate and polite,
unostentatiously educated able to hold,
a conversation with kings and commoners
the same, alacritously witty, smiling imbued,
in appropriateness infusing tenderness, kind words
no blasphemes, ladylike deportment stroking
piano keys in the await of an encounter,
with a gentleman who would court her, know
how to, fortuitous glances shivering touches
shuddering breaths, the seduction
they would dream of at nights as she would see,
the strength of his fragility and he
in her the beauty of the most enchanting
creature ever seen.
Now they can swipe each other right or left
call one another god and goddess
or whore and perve, at most
they will dismiss each other with an f
word as soon as they are back online.
