Wholeness
Integrity of the form
Envelopes of our spirits
To strive to live
To discover, go beyond.
Bear a breathing child
Pouring tears to homage life
Surviving the labour to witness,
Strength to grow ramble earth
Desire, attain, evolve.
Clean air for hearts to beat
Pure water for blood to flow
While earth feeds substance
Fire shelters our casings
On cold nights.
Leaves, resin, roots and berries
Free matter from poison
Soothing thought-impeding pain
To endure another day,
Healing remedies offered by nature.
Until some decide to destroy
Jungles and forests building cities
To pile bodies in apartments,
Off their feet they move on wheels
Rumorous abandonment of origins.
Unbreathable air and dirty water
Polluted crops harvested by machines
Consuming corpses of past eras
Releasing energy from the abysses
Of earth replacing fire with fossil fuels.
Profitable pandemic diseases call
For dying babies and mothers,
Drugs restricted to deep pockets
Life reserved for the wealthy
Legally discriminating the unhealthy.
Proposed, voted, passed
Another step toward extinction
For undeserving creatures
To play the mad mad game
Of their existence.
